The extension reads the captions TikTok itself provides. Many videos have them, but some creators turn them off and some videos never get them. It does not transcribe audio.

Whatever TikTok offers for that video: usually the original language, and often automatic translations. The menu appears when there is more than one track.

No. Transcript for TikTok is an independent extension. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TikTok or ByteDance.
